About Reusable Plastics
It is always a good idea to consider reusing plastics like containers and plastic buckets that you have purchased. In the manufacture of these products, a great deal of non-renewable energy is used and continuing to purchase new products will only perpetuate a cycle that does harm to the environment.
Recycling your plastics is no longer the only option you have when it comes to doing your bit for the environment. Many manufacturers now create products specifically to be reused. Plastic buckets are a prime example of how reusing plastics instead of recycling can be beneficial to both the individual and the environment.
Uses Of Plastic Buckets
The uses of plastic buckets can literally range as far as your imagination manages to go. The options are endless with these durable and functional containers. Depending on what your needs are at the time, finding a use for a plastic bucket will be easier than sending it off to be recycled. It will also save you money.
Plastic buckets make wonderful organizers. Use them to organize tools and apparel in your garage or use them as colourful storage for your children’s toys. By keeping a small bucket in the boot of your car you will do away with having things rolling around while you drive.
Besides storage and organizing, there are more creative ways to use plastic buckets like transforming it into a makeshift drinks cooler. Drill holes into the bottom of the bucket and suspend it in a lake or pool. Fill it with your favourite drinks and let nature take its course. This is a great way to save energy and you won’t have to leave the company to keep fetching drinks if you are hosting a social gathering.
Another popular secondary use of plastic buckets is to create makeshift stilts out of them. Often referred to as painter’s stilts, two buckets are turned upside down and two holes are drilled into the base of each one. The holes should be the width of your foot. A rope or something similar is then secured through the holes to make a sort of tie for your foot to slip into. By standing on these bucket stilts, you will be able to reach difficult spots when painting or washing walls.
Benefits Of Reusing Plastics
The biggest benefit of plastics recycling is that it greatly reduces the amount of oil required to make more plastic. This in turn leads to a decrease in the carbon footprint of plastic manufacturing companies. Recycled plastics can be used to make many different kinds of products like plastic lumber, toys and car parts to name a few.
By reusing plastics in this way, a lot of money is saved in the process and less harm is done to the environment as when virgin plastic is used. It saves money for the consumer and manufacturer alike and slows down the depletion of oil which is a non-renewable resource.
